Kurdish and Ezidi combat units have repelled an Islamic State assault in the northern Iraqi Shingal region. On Wednesday morning, IS terrorists attacked several checkpoints in Shilo, a strategically important area west of Mount Shingal. Fighters of the Ezidi YBS (Shingal´s Resistance Units) and Kurdish PKK returned the attack, killing at least two terrorists and wounding some others.
IS terrorists eventually retreated after an hour-long firefight. The bodies of two terrorists as well as weapons and ammunition have been seized by resistance fighters. It is the second attack to be repelled in recent days. The terrorist militia has been repeatedly trying to recapture the Shilo area. Eight IS terrorists were killed in a similiar attack last Sunday in Shilo.
