The terrorist militia ISIS launched today an attack on the Sharfadeen sanctuary in the early morning hours in Sinjar. Being backed by several armored Humvee vehicles, the terrorists tried to advance to the Ezidi pilgrimage site where resistance fighters from the HPS repelled the attack. Two Humvee vehicles were destroyed together with their occupants while many attackers were wounded in the course of the hour-long clashes, forcing the terrorists to flee for the moment.

The attack seemed to be an act of revenge as Ezidi fighters had carried out an attack on an ISIS position in Borik before, around 2.5 kilometres northwest of Sharfadeen where one ISIS vehicle had been destroyed and four terrorists had been wounded.

Hours after the morning clashes, new clashes erupted between ISIS terrorists and Ezidi resistance fighters at the Sharfadeen sanctuary, the HPS Supreme Commander Haydar Shesho announced in a phone conversation, leading to the killing of an ISIS commander called Ahmet Khezuri Djahsim whose body ISIS terrorists are now trying to recover. In addition, the Ezidi commander stated that ISIS reinforcements from Tel Afar were heading to Sinjar Mountains to support the squads in Sinjar.
