The commander Abu Abdullah Yasin Ali Suleiman of the terrorist organization ISIS was killed on August 18 in Mosul, the Security Council of the Kurdish autonomous region announced in a press release. The Iraqi state television Al-Iraqia also confirmed the killing of Abu Sumaya, as the terrorist was also called.
According to that, Sumaya was killed by security forces during the liberation oh Khazar which is located around 50 kilometres east of Mosul. Sumaya was responsible for monitoring and selling abducted Ezidi women from Sinjar in the province of Nineveh and the surrounding areas. Furthermore, he was one of the manipulators of the bomb attack against the Kurdish Department of the Interior in 2007.
The 40-year-old Abu Sumaya, who was born in 1974 in Mosul, worked as a teacher and studied art at the Institute of Arab culture before his appointment to an ISIS commander.
