Rio de Janeiro – The Ezidi boxer Misha Aloyan from Russia has won his first fight at the Olympic Games. On Monday evening, the multiple World Champion defeated his French opponent, Elie Konkie, with a 3-0 success, and has thus reached the quarter finals.

Konkie remained optimistic despite his defeat. He would leave the Games “without regret” and gave his best against an “experienced World Champion”, he told French journalists.

In the quarter-finals on Wednesday at 21:00 CEST, Aloyan will meet Ceiber Ávila from Columbia.
